4 Supercars That Totally Changed The Car Industry in 2016

It has been an exciting year in the car industry with many new launches throughout the year. In this article I discuss the top 4 sports cars which I feel are this year’s best.

Ferrari 488 Spider

This is the convertible version of the Ferrari’s mid-engined twin-turbo 488 coupe, which was launched in 2015 as the successor to the 458 Italia. The coupe was named supercar of the year in 2015 by Top Gear.

Despite the added hardtop convertible roof, it is only 50kg heavier and can still accelerate from 0–62mph in 3 seconds flat, same as its coupe variant.

McLaren 570GT

It is what people are calling the less track focused McLaren 570S, it has added cargo space and more comfortable leather filled interiors with unique side opening rear cargo door.

With the typical McLaren technologies, it is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable supercar that launched this year.

Aston Martin DB11

Debuted at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, it is Aston Martin’s successor to the DB9, and is the first car launched in the company’s “Second Century” plan.

They skipped mass production for the DB10 as it was produced specially for the latest James Bond movie, Spectre.

Within its futuristic body, it is powered by a 5.2L twin-turbocharged V12 engine which brings the car from nought to 62mph in a mere 3.9 seconds.

Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 Spyder

Revealed recently on the 16th of November, it has an upgraded version of the Gallardo’s 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 engine that everybody loves. It has a different front fascia from the all wheel drive version which makes it even more angular and aggressive.

With its angular hexagonal design and rear wheel drive madness, it is truly a real Lamborghini despite its heavy use of technology for increased usability.

With top speeds of 199mph, it stands on par with most cars such as the McLaren 540C. The price for this car has not yet been announced, but should be around US$240,000.

These are my candidates for the top 4 cars of the year, there are some amazing cars that almost made the spot such as the Bugatti Chiron, but its price was way out of range hence it wasn’t included.
